A Juried Exhibition of Art by Women
Sponsored by the Koehnline Museum of Art and theWomen’s and Gender Studies Program at Oakton Community College.
This year’s annual collaboration between theWomen’s and Gender Studies Program and the Koehnline Museum challenges presenters to engage with and respond to the work of an influential woman artist. Oakton Community College invites women artists of all media to submit a single work that honors, critiques, or expands upon the techniques and/or content of a groundbreaking female “master” of either the past or the present.

When: The exhibit runs October 6 - 28, 2011. A public reception will be held Thursday, October 6, from 5 to 8 p.m. Artists are encouraged to attend this special event and discuss their work with students, faculty, staff, and community members.
Who: Artists who self-identify as women are invited to submit one work for consideration. Submissions must be from professional artists 18 years of age or older.
Jury/Entry Fee: No entry fee.
Catalog: A catalog of the exhibition will be produced.
Submission of Work: Each artist may submit one original work for consideration.Work should relate to the theme of
“call and response.”
DEADLINE AND GUIDELINES:
Submissions must arrive at the Koehnline Museum of Art by August 26, 2011.
Submission on CD only. Image should be a JPEG (.jpg) of at least 300 dpi. The CD should be labeled with the artist’s name, title of work, date, and medium. In addition, the CD also should contain a single MicrosoftWord document with artist biography (maximum 300 words, narrative form—no résumés) and a brief statement about the submitted work including information about the connection to the selected artist and, if applicable, the specific artwork referenced.
Also complete the attached form and return it with your CD. If you would like your CD returned, include SASE.
Media: All media considered. Performance works will be considered if appropriate to the space. Installations and work that the artist determines to be delicate must be installed and removed by the artist. The Museum manager will determine if works should be installed and removed by the artist.
Size Limitations: None.
Insurance: All work will be insured while in the Museum.
Delivery of AcceptedWork: All work must arrive at the Museum by 5 p.m., Monday, September 26, 2011.
Pickup ofWork: Monday, October 31, 2011, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., or by appointment. If the indicated times for delivery or pickup are not convenient for you, contact Nathan Harpaz, manager of the Koehnline Museum of Art, 847-635-2633, to arrange a more convenient time and date.
Other Information: Please place the following information on the back of each piece: Artist’s name and phone number; title of work; year completed; medium; and insurance value. The Koehnline Museum does not take commissions on sales. Artists will be placed in contact with interested buyers.

Printmaking Competition
GRAND PRIZE:
Two Printmakers will be chosen to receive free, 6-month keyholder memberships to the Chicago Printmakers Collaborative (a $1200 value). The artwork created at CPC by the two winners will be exhibited in the summer of 2012.

50th Annual Art Fair
The Art Fair celebrated its 49th anniversary! The Village Green, downtown Skokie, at 5211 Oakton, is the site of this beautiful annual event. Skokie is proud to claim this event as one of the most established, high-quality art fairs held on the North Shore. It attracts artists from many parts of the country. Artists represent categories such as 2-dimensional paintings, photography, sculpture, ceramics, glass and much more. In addition, there was live music, face-painting and ice cream.
