“Structure” National Juried Exhibition

We are seeking works of art that address the concept of "structure" in all its forms.  Structure can define vision and expression within political, religious and technological boundaries. How do you express the structure and thus the inherent meaning in your art? 
 
Interpretations both representational and abstract may include, but are not limited to imagination, fabrication, process, format, framework, or organization.  Subjects may encompass anatomy, architecture, form, object, concept, motif, texture, etc.

Juror’s Award:  Juror’s Award ribbon and certificate awarded to three works that express the most imaginative interpretation of “Structure”

Eligibility:  Artists residing in the continental United States

Submission Fee:  $35 

Media:  Sculpture, painting, drawing, photo, printmaking, ceramics, assemblage, collage, mixed media, fiber art, artist book.

Deadline: September 4, 2013

Exhibition Dates: November 9, 2013 - December 7, 2013

Opening Reception: Saturday, November 9th 7-10PM

WATER: A UNIVERSAL HUMAN RIGHT



THE CHICAGO WOMEN'S CAUCUS FOR ART invites you to enter this exciting national juried exhibition - open to all professional artists!

LOCATION:
The ROBERT MORRIS STATE STREET GALLERY, ROBERT MORRIS UNIVERSITY, 401 S. State Street at Van Buren, Chicago.

WHEN: FEBRUARY 13 through MARCH, 2014

OPENING RECEPTION: Thursday evening, February 13, 2014 to coincide with the national Women's Caucus for Art's Annual Conference that week, in conjunction with the College Art Association.

CONTEXT:
Historically, women have played a central role in water provision and management and must continue to be a catalyst in planning for the future.

SCOPE & THEMES: both artists' subject matter and the proposed forums with experts in the field will include:

• Water as a metaphor
• Water reclamation and usage
• Agricultural usage and conflicts
• Water sustainability
• Water use and abuse
• Damage to our oceans and waterways due to pollution from such sources as coal mining and mountaintop removal
• The highly flammable, both literally and politically and controversial process of FRACKING

PRELIMINARY PARAMETERS for ARTISTS:

ALL MEDIA ARE WELCOME, INCLUDING 2-D, 3-D, VIDEO AND INSTALLATION. ALL SIZES WILL BE CONSIDERED BASED ON THE STRENGTH AND POWER OF THE ARTWORK, with the following possible exceptions:

2-D WORK OVER 72" IN EITHER DIRECTION

3-D WORK THAT CANNOT FIT ON A PEDESTAL

INSTALLATIONS REQUIRING MORE THAN 3 FEET IN DIAMETER OF FLOOR SPACE

“Mayhem” National Juried Exhibition


Join in our madness, mischief, and monkey business  with the aim to create pandemonium, chaos, and discord at Arc Gallery’s  “Mayhem” National Juried Exhibition. “Mayhem” runs from May 4th to 25th at Arc  Gallery, 1246 Folsom Street in San Francisco. Deadline for submissions is  February 24th, 2013. No jewelry, video, film, performance, installations,  works requiring external electrical source. $35 entry fee for up to three  pieces. 60% of sale goes to artists, 40% to Arc. CULTUREHALL SUMMER 2012 NEW ARTISTS FEATURE APPLICATION CALL

Culturehall, a curated online resource for contemporary art, invites artists to submit work to an open application call.  From this open call, four artists will be selected for membership and inclusion in our Summer 2012 New Artists Feature. As a member, each artist can directly share their work, accomplishments, and events with the audience of arts professionals who visit Culturehall daily.  The New Artists Feature will publish to our homepage and by newsletter on September 5th.
Submit links of your work or 5 images for review. Applications are $35 and if selected, you will be able to share your full portfolio with no additional fees or subscriptions.

The Personal is Political: The Transformative Power of Women’s Art

Ever since Kate Millet coined the phrase “the personal is political” in her landmark 1970 work Sexual Politics, the words have continued to resonate in contemporary feminism. In this election year, we challenge artists to create works that engage with and respond to the multiple meanings in Millet’s words.
